Past simple：英语语法术语，指“一般过去时”，用来表示过去某个时间发生并已结束的动作或状态（常与 yesterday, last week, in 2019 等时间状语连用）。也常简称为 simple past。

past 源自拉丁语 passus（“经过的”）相关词根，后来在英语中表示“过去的”。simple 源自拉丁语 simplex（“单一的、简单的”）。合在一起的 past simple 字面意思是“简单的过去（时态）”，用于与更复杂的过去表达（如完成时、进行时）作区分。
